Conestoga Bank Customers to Get Deposit-on-the-Go Capabilities with J&B Software's Mobile Check Deposit
Community Bank Customers to Be Among the First in the U.S. with Ability to Easily and Remotely Deposit Business or Consumer Checks from their Smartphones
Blue Bell, PA - Customers of PA-based Conestoga Bank will soon be able to deposit checks via their iPhones, BlackBerries, or a wide range of other handheld devices, utilizing J&B Software's Mobile Check Deposit.
J&B, a premier provider of enterprise-wide transaction and payment solutions, announced today that Conestoga Bank will implement J&B's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Mobile Check Deposit this fall. The product will allow Conestoga Bank's customers to deposit paper checks easily and remotely via their smartphones.
"We're on the leading edge of mobile deposit adoption, and this offering will make it incredibly easy for our customers to deposit checks wherever and whenever it's convenient for them," explained Lori Adamski, Conestoga's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "These capabilities will go live in just a few months which, along with its deep banking expertise, is a major reason why we chose J&B."
J&B will host and deliver the mobile deposit capabilities, eliminating the need for Conestoga Bank to implement or manage the technology infrastructure. J&B's SaaS Mobile Check Deposit solution will easily integrate with Conestoga Bank's core processing system and will be supported by the extensive global payment processing network of J&B's sister company, Regulus Group. As a result, most check deposits will clear within one hour.
"Conestoga Bank is an ideal customer for our technology," said Jim McShea, chief revenue officer for J&B's parent company, 3i Infotech, North America. "SaaS Mobile Check Deposit will allow Conestoga Bank to provide its consumers and businesses customers with an entirely new level of convenience and service. At the same time, the agile delivery model allows Conestoga Bank to keep costs down while giving them the ability to drive additional deposits and attract new customers."
Once a Conestoga Bank customer photographs a check and submits it via his or her mobile device, J&B will validate the images for Check 21 compliance using Mitek Systems' (OTC: MITK.OB) industry-standard mobile IMagePROVE™ technology. J&B's industry leading workflow, risk management and clearing modules will be used by Conestoga Bank for business rules application, compliance and clearing purposes. The business rules, such as exception management and fraud monitoring, can be easily customized as needed.
J&B's Mobile Check Deposit provides a safe and secure image capture and deposit experience for Conestoga Bank customers. To ensure security, a complete audit trail of where, when and how each check was captured will be logged to allow for any disputes to be tracked and resolved. Customers are also protected since no data or images will be stored on the smartphone in case of loss of the device, and all communication will be 128-bit encrypted. All major smartphone models will be supported.
